David F. Lyons, Sr. is the founder, president and chief executive officer of
Lyons Companies, Delaware's
largest privately held insurance brokerage and risk management firm. Headquartered in Wilmington,
Delaware, Lyons Companies is recognized as one of the
fastest growing companies in the mid-Atlantic region.
David Lyons began his career in Washington
D.C. at a privately-owned
insurance agency. A graduate of Franklin and Marshall
College and native Delawarean, he
returned to Wilmington
in 1984 to start his own firm.
In 2006, the Delaware State Chamber of Commerce awarded Mr. Lyons the "Marvin A.
Gilman Superstar in Business Award" for outstanding achievement and model
approaches to business and management.
Mr. Lyons is active in the community, serving on several boards and executive
committees including: Delaware Business Roundtable, Artisans' Bank, Tatnall School and Delaware Tennis Foundation.
He is former co-chairman of the Young Alexis de Tocqueville Society and
remains active with the United Way. Mr. Lyons also serves as a publically
elected official to the Town of Henlopen Acres.
In 2009, Mr. Lyons became the second recipient of The Inspiration Award from the Nemours
Partnership for Children's Health, the philanthropic arm of Nemours, one of the
nation's largest pediatric health systems. The award honors an individual who generously contributes with their time
and resources to Nemours and inspires others to do the same.
Mr. Lyons serves as chairman of the Delaware Council for Economic Education and
Entrepreneurship at the University of Delaware. He speaks regularly with students and educators on matters of business
and entrepreneurship at the Lerner School of Business at the University
of Delaware.

Executive Vice President, Chief Financial Officer and Chief Operating
Officer, Lyons Companies
Ed joined Lyons Companies in 2002 as chief financial officer
and was promoted to chief operating officer in 2009. A graduate of Drexel University
and certified public accountant, Ed has over 25 years of expertise in the
financial community. Prior to joining the Lyons'
team, he was a partner in a regional accounting firm and chief financial officer
for an INC 500 company. Ed is well
positioned to assist Lyons Companies through its next phase of growth and
expansion.
Ed is a member of the AICPA, PICPA, DSCPA and the ACFE. He is a designated Diplomate of The American Board of Forensic
Accounting.
Ed is active in his community and has served as chairman of his church's finance
committee, fundraising co-chair for the construction of a new church. and CYO
football coach. Additionally, he has
served as Home and School president and president of the Lions Club.
